Sisterhood Softball league (SSL) is a faith based, non-profit organization, comprising of dynamic group of Muslim women who are changing the face of athletics in the Muslim world.  The league is organized and operated by volunteers who have  a deep appreciation of coming together for the sake of Allah SWT, while providing women of all ages the opportunity to play competitive softball.
 

Dedication, support and passion displayed by the founders and the board members of SSL paved the way for Muslim women across the GTA to come together on summer Sunday mornings not only to learn and love the game of softball, but more importantly, to build together an incredible bond of sisterhood.

Today, our eight-team league comprises of over 100 women who come out to play every Sunday morning to appreciate their love of softball and sisterhood. 

But what makes us unique? 

We provide an opportunity for Muslim women to play softball in a semi-private environment where they can feel comfortable to participate in an outdoor team sport surrounded by strong and supportive women.

Our value isn’t just limited to the field. SSL is committed to helping each member of our league improve themselves both athletically and spiritually. Our weekly pre-game halaqas are designed to provide reflection and insight on relevant life challenges, and to create support for one another that transforms into friendships off the field. We’re committed to giving back to the greater community through our charity work, our regular support through participation in local events and our partnerships with other organizations which reflect values similar to ours.

At SSL we don’t just compete on the field - we strengthen our community by nurturing our love for one another through respect, appreciating values, focusing on sportsmanship and building sisterhood!
